OnStrike

Why On Strike? It all starts with a spark, which turns into a flame. When I was a high school student in the late 90’s, I was very fortunate to win an award for my first digital art piece entitled “On Strike.” Even though it was little more than a beginner photoshop tutorial with a clever name, the accomplishment I felt inspired me to continue practicing and learning about the visual arts. After building a modest portfolio, I hung my work on a virtual wall in a virtual gallery. The 11 minute 3D rendered magnetic strip on a VHS tape helped me earn an art scholarship and further cemented my interest in art. I have had the privilege of working on nearly 30 children’s books, several textbooks, numerous journal articles, and many other projects. I can’t wait for the next one. To me, art is the pinnacle of human expression. Art is beautiful. Art is fun. Art has utility. Art is my passion. I am constantly learning and growing with each brush stroke.
