As alchemy bug 031 came into existence, its former shell hardened into solid metal and the slimy exterior of its body was replaced with billions of overlapping metallic scales. It was later observed that the trail the creature left behind contained trace amounts of metallic copper, giving it a slimy and shiny luster. However, since it was synthesized using oxidized copper essence, it began to tarnish and its shell took on a green patina as it oxidized. This has little to no effect on the snail itself and thus far has solely been aesthetic.
